Lack of blogging...

If you look at the dates of the entries in this blog, it's pretty obvious that I haven't had much time for blogging this year. It's probably got a lot to do with the fact that I update maxplugins.de nearly every day, and haven't got that much to write about here. I'll try and get around to posting here more often in the future :o)

Time to expand MAX Plugins.de a bit...

Since the last post, I've changed quite a few things on the site internally. Sub-domains now work, which means I can now offer plugin developers space on the site for their plugins. So if you write plugins, and don't have your own homepage, or you haven't got enough space or traffic, let me know. I would be glad to help out!

Source code repository...

With Max 9 coming up, and all plugins needing to be recompiled again, I've been thinking about all of the useful plugins that will be disappearing due to the programmers lack of time and/or interest.

It's been the same with every Max release that has needed a plugin recompile. Some great plugins don't make the move over to the new version, old scene files complain about missing plugins, etc.

My idea is this: we could use MAX Plugins.de as a repository for plugin source code. If a plugin author has no interest in updating his/her plugins for new versions, or just isn't able to do it, they could make the source code available to others in a special section at MAX Plugins.de, in the hope that someone else will be able to recompile it and make it available to the Max community.

If anyone has any ideas or comments about this, I would love to hear them...

What's going on...

I've been working on getting some of the suggestions below in the 'What needs doing' post built into the site. You can now sort search results by date, plugin name or author. I've also got rid of loads of dead links, and I'm now going to start adding links to instructions on how to use the plugins if available. That will take a while, but it'll be in there eventually.

I'm also going to try and update the blog a bit more often.

That's all for now...

Posting comments

I've updated the settings for comments so that anyone can post a comment, not just registered Blogger users. If I start getting too much spam or crap posted, I'll set it back to registered users only.

What needs doing?

Is there anything you think is missing from MAX Plugins.de? Or anything you don't like? If you've got any suggestions or want to moan about something, leave a comment.

MAX Plugins.de blog goes online

It looks like it's time to post this on the main site. I'm still not happy about the template changing when posting comments, but maybe sopmeone can give me a tip on how to change it.

Oh yeah, and before I forget: Happy Valentines Day!

...and another test post

Something seems to be screwed with the template and comments. Whenever I click on the comments, I get a competely different template showing up...

1st post...

Thought I would finally get around to setting up a blog for MAX Plugins.de, now all I've got to do is get it looking right, and then I can post it on the site...
